The selection of plate heat exchanger is very important, but many friends do not know how to choose? According to the differences in user needs, plate heat exchangers are divided into multiple models and specifications, so how to choose a plate heat exchanger that suits you?
The selection of plate heat exchangers mainly depends on these three aspects: plate type selection, pressure drop check, and how to choose flow channels and processes.
1. Board type selection
The plate type or corrugated type is customized according to the application place of the plate heat exchanger, and the brazed or detachable heat exchanger is selected according to the temperature and pressure of the fluid. When the flow rate is large and the pressure drop is small, the plate type with low resistance can be selected, and vice versa. When choosing a plate type, you cannot choose a small plate area, because too many plates will cause the flow velocity between the plates to be too small, which will affect the heat transfer efficiency.
2. Pressure drop check
When selecting the plate heat exchanger, there will also be certain regulations on the pressure. Perform pressure drop check. If the check pressure drop exceeds the allowable pressure drop, the model selection and calculation will be performed again, and the process standard stop has been achieved.
3. The choice of runners and processes
The flow channel is in the plate heat exchanger, and the medium flow channel formed between the adjacent two plates is called the flow channel. The process refers to a group of parallel channels with the same flow direction of the medium inside the heat exchanger. Therefore, when selecting the plate heat exchanger, the process composition method is calculated based on the fluid resistance and heat exchange. In the case of ensuring that the process requirements can be met, try to make the convective heat transfer coefficients in the hot and cold runners close or equal to achieve the best heat transfer effect.
Process selection: When the flow rate on one side is small, follow the multi-process layout. When the medium has a large temperature difference or high temperature, multiple processes can also be adopted.
When selecting the plate heat exchanger, you must pay attention to four points:
1. The flow rate at the side fluid interface where the temperature difference is small should not be too high.
2. When selecting plates, the area should not be too small.
3. Try to choose the side with the smaller heat transfer coefficient to get a larger flow rate.
4. For large flow and small allowable pressure drop, choose a version with low resistance.
